While planning a technical relaunch/rewrite of the deepamehta software code for DM3, there shall also be some changes in the social engeneering of the community process arround it. In a first meeting towards DM3 there was a suggestion to write a manifesto which shall document the common goals and the framework of the DeepaMehta Community.
In Step 1 we should gather some headlines and important aspects to discuss here:
* OpenSource - DeepaMehta is and will remain a free and open source software project, licensed under GPL or a likewise copyleft license. * Worldwide Easy Access - To build and serve a technology which is easy to access for everyone is a main goal, costs what it takes * Infrastructure - Information and Communication Technology belongs to the commons * Open Education - Are we supporters of the capetown declaration ? Partly at least. * ..
Do we have a political agenda ? Are you refusing to collaborate with peoples or institutions which have certain political views that are clearly against humanity ? What is political for you ? Where do you see borders today ? How would you like to see the DeepaMehta Community build bridges over borders neither they are between the rich and the poor, between nations or between you and me ?
Does everyone would say that J.J. saying contains an aspect worth to mention in our manifest if it not already is within the first statement. The saying states that that there is no original. (Remix Culture)
As a community with the knowledge worker/gardener as a (former?) central topic and as one of our driving questions for research is "when do people turn information into action" were do we take opposition/organize help and work to address current unacceptable states of either elementary-/gradute-school/or even universities in germany ? how would you define education how you want and need it ? would you say that knowledge end education is an important aspect to affect your life ?
The decision of the lisense could make a pretty good Meeting Topic!
